Francesca Antonini Arte Contemporanea is pleased to present Assolo #4. Opere su carta, which features Andrea Fontanari (Trento, 1996) in collaboration with Boccanera Gallery, Trento. With Assolo, the gallery periodically presents a project dedicated to a guest artist who can freely intervene with an accurate selection of new works. The first three appointments featured the work of Shafei Xia (ShaoXing, 1989) with P420, Bologna; Andrea Barzaghi (Monza, 1988) with Lunetta 11, Mombarcaro (CN) and Cristiano Tassinari (Forlì, 1980) with Ncontemporary, Milano.

For Assolo #4, Andrea Fontanari produced a group of works that share the same support: paper. By capturing and collecting moments belonging to the sphere of everyday life, the artist invites us to dwell on what is ordinary to explore all the different possibilities, apparently hidden by simple moments - whether it is a morning at the beach or resting in bed. These moments of life take shape through objects, spaces and situations that, transferred onto paper, generate worlds that are closely related to our collective imaginary, giving back images characterised by an intrinsic photographic approach.

One of the recurring elements in Andrea Fontanari's research is the presence of the human figure, sometimes expressed as a self-portrait and represented in its entirety or only in a few peculiarities, but always set in precise contexts rich in contemporary details such as laptops, battery chargers and design objects. Through the decomposition of form and the alternation of large, thick brushstrokes and colour-free areas, the artist creates images with a high level of perceptive dynamism.

Andrea Fontanari (Trento, 1996) lives and works between Trento and Venice. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice.
