Assolo #3 - C is for Cherry

Francesca Antonini Arte Contemporanea is pleased to present Assolo #3 - C is for Cherry (C di Ciliegia), in collaboration with Ncontemporary, Milan, which features Cristiano Tassinari (Forlì, 1980). With Assolo, the gallery presents every six months a project dedicated to a guest artist to whom the central room is assigned, where he can freely intervene with an accurate selection of new works. Assolo #1 presented the work of Shafei Xia (ShaoXing, 1989) in collaboration with P420, Bologna and Lunetta 11, Mombarcaro (CN). In February 2022 Andrea Barzaghi (Monza, 1988) exhibited his work in Assolo #2 in collaboration with Lunetta 11, Mombarcaro (CN).

C is for Cherry expands on the cultural imagery associated with the generation born in the years following World War II. Tassinari explores the symbols and concepts present in his mother's memories and imagination through a reflection originating from her collection of porcelain sculptures and memorabilia. Fascinated by his mother’s lighthearted point of view on the world and things in it as a result of her personal experiences, in Assolo #3 Cristiano Tassinari presents a series of works that finds itself in the vivid space between history and emotions, examining the discordance and opacity of feelings between mother and child.

The exhibition also explores the ways in which spaces and objects can be the basis of new experiences and change the main focus, offering the opportunity to cross over preconceived thresholds. Tassinari's works create a space that incites the senses - where the distance between telling through objects and the materials used to make them merge cohesively in an exhibition that leans toward universal shared experiences rather than the telling of a single story.

Cristiano Tassinari (Forlì, 1980) lives and works in Berlin. Tassinari attended at the Academy of Fine Arts in Brera and Bologna. His recents solo exhibitions include Mother's Bliss, Ncontemporary, Milan (2019); 1800 kcal, SOEHT 7 Former Women's Prison, Berlin (2018); 55M2 It's our home!, MAR, Museo d'arte della Città di Ravenna (2016); Vor Meiner Haut Beginnt Das Fremde, Werkstatt Galerie, Berlin (2016); Plastytipe, Van Der Gallery, Turin (2013).
